What type of shorts to wear while running?
I have been practicing for 10k. Currently I am running 5kms on treadmill regularly.
Now, I wear loose shorts while running. After running, I realized that the skin that touches scrotum has been bruised because of long running.
How can I avoid further pains?

runners knee and pain
I am practising for half marathon. Have practiced the distance many times. This is my first HM. Recently I am feeling pain in my knees when I run or when going on stairs. I am able to walk properly. I googled it found to be runners knee. I am doing stretches shown in videos on internet. Also icing the muscles. But noa that I am not running since a week taking complete rest and just a week left want to recover fast. Please suggest what else I can do for recovery.

you have not mentioned your name. continue doing the exercises. and keep and icing your knee atleast 4-5 times a day. keep fit by cycling and swimming. on the race day take a painkiller (anti-inflamation tablet [ask the doctor]) and eat before you take the tablet.

Pain in the ball of the foot
I'm 42 years old male candidate and running first time in the marathon. Since last 3 months I started to feel pain (occasionally) in the ball of the foot. I always walk 100 minutes (to and fro) a day. I don't know why this pain has started suddenly. I've habit to walk a lot per day so that won't be the reason.
I started running since last 2 months. Doctor suggested me to use vulgus pad (what kind of vulgus pad I should go for) in the shoes. Please advice.

Half Marathon to Full marathon ?
Hello Coach, I recently finished my ADHM with 3.15 hrs. it was my fourth half marathon. Unfortunately I was not able to enrol for SCMM 2013 half marathon. It seems the Full marathon category is open. I am kind of interested to take part in full marathon but it looks too difficult at this point of time from preparation perspective as only 85 odd days are left. Do you think I should go for it ? Also Will I be eligible for full marathon (I mean i don't have any timing certificate for full marathon) ? If you think I can, then please provide me some tips as well. looking positively for your reply.

My heels paining
Hi Coach, I've actively participated in ADHM 2010, 2011 and SCMM 2011. Now I'm preparing for ADHM 2012 which is scheduled on 30th September 2012. Off lately, I'm feeling pain on my heels. I am 5'10" and weighing 86 Kgs. I wear ASICS Gel Kayano shoes and i have normal pronation. Let me know what can be the possible causes of the heel pain and how can it be cured ?

Thanks a lot Coach... Your very first point seems to be the main cause. Usually I used to jog on roads but off lately i shifted my training to Gym on trademill. After that only i started feeling pain. Once this ADHM is over, i'll take some rest and follow your lead to get relief. Later on will try again slowly on roads.
Thanks a lot once again....
