My parents raised my sister Riddhima and me without any discrimination. If anything, I used to feel my sister got a better deal because she was the elder child and a girl. I truly believe that the yard stick of a civilised society is the degree to which its women are empowered. I’m happy to join hands with Mijwan Welfare Society which is working to provide equal opportunity to the girl child through education and employment generation. To my young friends I wish to say, Be the change you wish to see in the world. You can do it, your time starts NOW.

I am an optimist and am excited by the progress that India is making in establishing herself as a world leader. But I am also aware that there is a section in India on whom the sun is not shining. As an artist I want to use my celebrity status to be a catalyst for change. I believe Education is the most powerful tool for change and am very impressed with the work MIJWAN WELFARE SOCIETY is doing . I am participating in the Mumbai Marathon to raise funds for MWS. Every contribution makes a difference..come friends lets make this into a movement

Minisha Lamba
As actors we get so much love and respect from our audiences that we feel the need to pay back in a way that is meaningful. I am happy to join hands with Shabanajis NGO Mijwan Welfare Society that is doing such remarkable work to empower the people in our villages. My film Well done Abba sensitised me to the great rural-urban divide that exists. Mijwan Welfare Society is working to provide equal opportunity to villagers and I am honoured to work as a catalyst in that process.

Its a myth that the young are so wrapped up in their own lives that they are insensitive to the state of the less privileged in our country, in fact today's generation is far more connected ,aware and eager to work for the cause . What we need is leadership to show us the path and tell us how to get involved. I always have tried to help the underprivileged in bits and pieces but never an organized effort could be put in from my side. I thank Shabana ji for providing me the opportunity and privilege to be associated with Mijwan WELFARE SOCIETY by participating in Mumbai marathon. I urge you friends come join hands and demonstrate we care.. together we can and together we will make a difference- all contributions are invaluable however small.

The treatment of girls in our world today is the greatest violation of human rights.Millions of girl children are missing from the world population because of sex selection and female foeticide and infanticide. To me this is very disturbing as i have always been treated equally by my parents. Mijwan Welfare Society is an NGO that focuses on the education and empowerment of the girl child in rural India. The reality is employment needs and not the housing needs brings rural India to Urban India. I am privileged to join hands with Mijwan Welfare Society and Shabanaji to create equal opportunities for the girl child. I request you all to share equal responsibility through Mijwan Welfare Society and also spread awareness around.

I have been lucky enough to have made my choices and led the life I have wanted to without any discrimination because of my gender. 60 odd years after Independence, we must work to fulfil every girls dream of making her own decisions. Mijwan Welfare Society is providing the girl child that opportunity through education and employment generation. I am privileged to join hands with Shabana Azmi for whom I have great respect to support her NGO Mijwan Welfare Society by participating in the Mumbai marathon.I appeal to you to contribute to Mijwan Welfare Society and help empower the girl child.

Perizaad Zorabian
Having children changes your perception of life in profound ways. There is nothing I would not do for them. Every parent would like to do the best for their children but sadly this is often out of their reach. Mijwan Welfare Society is working to help children rise to the full level of their potential through education and empowerment. I am deled to be of service to Mijwan Welfare Society in my own small way by participating in The Mumbai Marathon to raise funds for Mijwan Welfare Society. Come join us and let us give our children a better future. Please donate to Mijwan Welfare Society.

I feel privileged and honoured to be involved with Mijwan Welfare Society which has done some path breaking work towards not only empowering the girl child but also empowering an entire village which didn't even have basic amenities some years back. I specifically mention these 2 things because as we all know India lives in its villages and to support the rural belts would mean to push India towards greater glory. If all of us come together and work towards making the villages self reliant , India will truly become the super power it can be. Inspire of all the progress, the girl child is still an issue in a major part of the country and that is the saddest truth about India. Shabana Azmi through Mws has worked so hard in trying to bring parity and i am personally very happy to be part of this process. Empowering the girl child is the first step towards overall progress and harmony. it defies logic to subvert the growth of a girl child when all the success we achieve means nothing without a mother, sister, wife or daughter to share with. If you are a true Indian, empower India by empowering the girl child and the villages. Stand up if you u want to be counted. Join me and make a change.

I have had the pleasure of being associating with Mijwan Welfare Society earlier as well and I am happy to do so again. I am participating in Mumbai Marathon to raise funds for the empowerment of the girl child which is one of the prime objectives of Shabana aunty’s NGO Mijwan Welfare Society. Come young friends this is our opportunity to prove we care and are committed to make a difference.

Our children have a right to a tobacco free life. Through the Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon I am committed to raise funds towards a mobile tobacco cessation van to help spread the anti-tobacco message; provide medical screening to users and encourage the youth and children to stay away from it.

Be faithful in small things!. DREAM FOR THEM, DREAM WITH THEM AND BE THEIR DREAM MAKER WITH ME!

Mr. Ajay S. Mittal - Dream Maker
To realize the true potential of our great country, all of us need to do a little more in our personal, professional and social capacities in whatever way possible. That extra bit by a few of us can make millions of dreams come true in India. The Mumbai Marathon is a true testament of the power of our society coming together for such a cause and thats something me and my family are proud to be part of it

Mr. Sanjeev Kapoor - Dream Maker
My biggest motivation for running would be the sentiment of giving and sharing. There is expectancy all around and that is heartening! I choose to run for the Forum of Autism as it something I feel very strongly for.

Mr. Ananya Mittal - Dream Maker
I have always looked forward to participating in the Mumbai Marathon with my father and this event is a testament to the spirit of India and a reminder to us all that each one of us should contribute in our own way to make our country live upto its potential.

Dr Ashok Khanvte - Dream Maker
Charity begins at home & Give till it hurts.

Mihir Jagdish Doshi - Dream Champion
I am motivated because I know that one is actually changing the lives of someone less privileged than yourself. The satisfaction you achieve whilst doing this cannot match anything else!
