PACE SETTER FOR TCS WORLD10K 2013
Who are Pace Setters?
A pace-setter is a runner who is a veteran of many races and knows the art of pace setting. Pacer is a committed runner who is able to set a steady pace throughout the distance and bring in the group of runners following him/her from the start to the finish at the predetermined time.
Pacers for TCS World 10K
We have pacers for following time slots:
The group following a pace setter is called 'a bus'.
Example: The 45 mins pacer will run at a speed so that he will finish the race (10k) in a time range of approx: 42 to 44 mins.
The idea is that the pacer must finish just a few minutes under the promised time. So if you have promised sub 60 mins, try and finish somewhere between 55 and 59 and not in 50. If you go that fast, you will drop all the runners who were aiming for sub 60. But even if you reach in 55, chances are that even if they fall behind you slightly, they will make it sub 60.
Please note: The timings mentioned are net/chip time and not gross/gun time.
Hurry!!! Last date to register as a pacer is 2nd May 2013.
